George. H. Currie Blacksmiths & Forgemasters - Sandbank, Dunoon

172 years and still going strong.

George. H. Currie
Blacksmiths were established in 1851 and are one of the oldest family run businesses in Scotland. They offer an extensive range of services from traditional blacksmithing and forging to welding, diamond drilling, wrought iron gates, railings and steel fabrication.

We have invested heavily in modern machinery, welding and cutting techniques which will enable us to move into the future with confidence while maintaining the traditional skills of the trade.

Today the company is run by Iain and Finlay Currie the fourth and fifth generation to blacksmith at Vulcan Place Sandbank.

The future of the company is in good hands as in 2016 it was not only the 166th year in Business, but also marked the start of the 6th generation of the Currie family ( Ben ) to blacksmith at Vulcan Place.
